Kenwood inverter air conditioners show a fault code on the indoor display when something is wrong. This is the complete Kenwood inverter AC error code list for Pakistan, grouped by series, with what each one means and what to do next.
Kenwood AC Error Code List #
E Series Error Codes #
| Error | Meaning | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|---|
| E0 | Indoor unit EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) error. | Faulty EEPROM chip or control board | Replace the EEPROM chip or control board. |
| E1 | Indoor and outdoor units not communicating properly. | Loose connections, faulty PCB (Printed Circuit Board) | Check connections, replace PCB if necessary. |
| E2 | Indoor pipe temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
| E3 | Indoor fan speed error | Faulty fan motor or control board | Check the fan motor and control board, replace faulty components. |
| E4 | Return air temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
| E5 | Indoor coil temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
| EC | Low refrigerant level | Refrigerant leak | Contact a technician to find and fix leaks, then recharge the refrigerant. |
| EE | High water level alarm | Blocked drain pipe, faulty water pump | Clear the drain pipe, replace the water pump if faulty. |
F Series Error Codes #
| Error | Meaning | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|---|
| F0 | Outdoor unit overcurrent protection | Overloaded circuit, faulty wiring, or compressor issue | Check circuit breaker, wiring, and consult a technician if the issue persists. |
| F1 | Outdoor ambient temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
| F2 | Outdoor coil temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
| F3 | Compressor discharge temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring, refrigerant issues, or compressor malfunction | Replace the sensor, check refrigerant levels, and consult a technician for compressor issues. |
| F4 | Outdoor EEPROM error | Faulty EEPROM chip or control board | Replace the EEPROM chip or control board. |
| F5 | Outdoor fan speed error | Faulty fan motor or control board | Check the fan motor and control board, replace faulty components. |
| F6 | Indoor coil temperature sensor error (for units with this sensor) | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
P Series Error Codes #
| Error | Meaning | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|---|
| P0 | Inverter module IPM (Intelligent Power Module) error | Faulty IPM or wiring issue | Replace the IPM or repair wiring. |
| P1 | High or low voltage protection | Unstable power supply, faulty voltage protection circuit | Check power supply, voltage stabilizer, and circuit. |
| P3 | Low-temperature lockout (outdoor unit) | Ambient temperature too low for operation | Wait for the temperature to rise. |
| P4 | Compressor drive error | Faulty compressor driver or wiring issue | Replace the compressor driver or repair wiring. |
| P6 | High-pressure or low-pressure switch open | Refrigerant leak, faulty switch, or compressor issue | Check for leaks, replace the switch, or consult a technician for compressor issues. |
| P7 | Outdoor IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) temperature sensor error | Faulty sensor or wiring | Replace the sensor or repair wiring. |
Setting your Kenwood AC remote to cool #
If the unit is running but not cooling and there is no error code on screen, check the remote settings before assuming a fault:
- Press the power button to switch the unit on.
- Press Mode until the snowflake (cooling) symbol shows.
- Set your temperature with the up and down arrows — 26°C is the efficiency sweet spot.
- Choose a fan speed, or leave it on auto.
- Turn on swing if you want the airflow distributed across the room.
How to reset a Kenwood AC #
A reset clears temporary faults — communication glitches, a one-off protection trip, or a code left on screen after the cause has gone. It will not fix a genuine hardware fault, but it is always the first thing to try and costs nothing.
- Switch the unit off with the remote and wait a few seconds.
- Turn the AC off at the circuit breaker or unplug it.
- Leave it isolated for 5 to 10 minutes so the control board fully discharges.
- Restore power and switch the unit on with the remote.
- If the same code returns immediately, it is a real fault — note the code and call a technician.
Which codes you can clear yourself, and which need a technician #
| Type of fault | Can you fix it? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Communication error between indoor and outdoor unit | Sometimes | Reset first. If it returns, the interconnecting cable or a board is at fault — technician. |
| Voltage or over-current protection | Often | Check your stabiliser and supply voltage. Repeated trips mean an electrical problem, not an AC problem. |
| Dirty filter or blocked outdoor unit | Yes | Clean the filters and clear debris and vegetation from around the outdoor unit. |
| Sensor fault (room, coil or outdoor sensor) | No | The sensor needs testing and replacing. Technician. |
| Refrigerant or gas-related fault | No | Usually a leak. Needs pressure testing and recharging by a technician. |
| Compressor, inverter module or PCB fault | No | Board-level repair. Do not attempt this yourself. |
