Infrared Electric Stove Price in Pakistan

An infrared electric stove costs Rs. 10,900 to Rs. 25,700 in Pakistan today. A halogen or infrared element heats a glass top that glows red, and the top heats the pot.

Induction Cooker Price in Pakistan

An induction hot plate costs Rs. 22,500 to Rs. 22,500 today. It heats the pot itself through a magnetic field, so it boils water faster than any other type and the glass top stays cooler.

Coil Hot Plate Price in Pakistan

A coil hot plate costs Rs. 10,400 to Rs. 14,900 today. It has an exposed coil or a solid iron plate, and it is the cheapest, toughest way to cook on electricity.

It heats any pot, but it is slower to heat up and cool down, and harder to clean than glass. It makes a good budget backup for the days the gas goes low.

A ceramic hot plate costs Rs. 18,500 to Rs. 55,000 today. A smooth ceramic glass top hides the element, so it looks neat and wipes clean in seconds. It takes any flat pot, and multi-zone ceramic stoves let you cook more than one dish at once.

Which pots work on which hot plate stove?

This is where most people buy the wrong stove. An infrared, ceramic or coil hot plate stove heats its own top, so almost any flat pot works. An induction cooker heats the pot directly, so the pot must be magnetic.

For roti, use a flat iron tawa on medium to high. To puff a phulka without a flame, press it gently with a folded cloth once both sides are cooked.

How many watts do you need?

More watts heat faster but draw more current. For a main cooking surface choose about 2,000 W or more. For an occasional backup or tea, 1,000 to 1,500 W is enough.

How to choose an electric hot plate, step by step

1. Check your pots. If most are aluminium or clay, choose infrared, ceramic or coil. If a magnet sticks to them, induction is an option.
2. Decide its job. A backup for gas load-shedding needs one plate. Full-time cooking without gas needs two or three plates.
3. Pick the watts. About 2,000 W for main cooking, 1,000 to 1,500 W for tea and light meals.
4. Check your wiring. A 2,000 W stove draws about 9 amps. Use a proper wall socket, not a thin extension board.
5. Look at controls. Digital models usually have power levels and timers; a coil plate has a simple dial.

Electric stove running cost, solar and UPS

A hot plate uses its rated watts whenever the element is on. A 2,000 W stove on full power uses about 2 units an hour. On a medium setting the thermostat switches it on and off, so the real figure is usually lower. An hour a day on a 1,500 W plate comes to roughly 30 to 45 units a month, depending on the setting.

On solar, cook lunch around midday when the panels give the most. Add the stove’s watts to your fridge and fans and keep the total well below your inverter rating. A 2,000 W stove plus about 800 W of other load is close to the limit of a 3 kW inverter. A typical home UPS gives well under 2,000 W, so cooking on a UPS is rarely practical.

Electric hot plate or gas stove?

For most homes, an electric hot plate is a dependable backup rather than a full replacement for gas. It keeps the kettle and the salan going when gas pressure drops on winter evenings in Peshawar, Islamabad or Lahore. In a flat, hostel or office with no gas line, a two or three-plate electric stove can do all the cooking. Whether it is cheaper than LPG depends on your electricity tariff and how much of your cooking runs on solar.

• Use flat-bottomed pots: a flat base sits fully on the plate and heats evenly.
• Let the glass cool: infrared and ceramic tops stay hot after switching off. Wipe spills only once cool, because cold water on hot glass can crack it.
• Keep it stable and clear: stand it on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from curtains and paper.
• One heavy load per socket: never run the stove with a heater or iron on the same socket.
• Lift, do not drag: dragging pots scratches glass tops.
