Water geyser price in Pakistan by size

The water geyser price rises with the tank. Electric geysers are sold in litres and gas or hybrid tanks in gallons, so the table shows both. An instant geyser’s litre figure is the hot water it gives per minute, not a tank.

As a rule of thumb, plan on about 10 to 15 litres of stored hot water per person for a winter morning. If two bathrooms are used at the same time, step up one size.

Gas Geyser Price in Pakistan

A gas geyser costs Rs. 17,200 to Rs. 81,675 in Pakistan today, counting gas storage tanks, electric-and-gas hybrids and LPG models. Where Sui gas pressure is good, gas is still the cheapest way to heat a big tank, and one tank can serve several bathrooms at once.

The catch is winter. In Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore and many other cities, gas pressure drops in December and January, just when you need hot water most. Before you buy a gas-only tank, ask your neighbours how their geysers cope on a cold morning.

Electric and gas geyser price

An electric-and-gas hybrid geyser costs Rs. 43,500 to Rs. 81,675. It has a gas burner and an electric element in the same tank. You heat on gas while the pressure is there and switch on the element when it drops, so most homes in the north are never left with cold water.

Electric, instant and solar geysers

If your area has little or no gas, or you live in a flat, an electric or instant geyser is the practical choice. Each type has its own page with a full price list.

Electric geysers cost Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 85,000 today. They heat a stored tank with a 1,500 to 3,000 watt element and work whatever the gas is doing.

Instant geysers cost Rs. 17,200 to Rs. 28,000. A gas instant geyser heats water only while the tap is open, and a semi-instant electric has a small, fast tank. Both suit a kitchen or one bathroom.

Solar-compatible geysers cost Rs. 22,700 to Rs. 81,675. They are electric or hybrid models that can run on your solar inverter around midday, so the tank is hot by evening.

Which geyser should you buy? Step by step

1. Check your gas. Steady gas all winter: a gas storage tank. Gas for only a few hours: an electric-and-gas hybrid. Little or no gas: electric or semi-instant.
2. Count the people. One or two people need 10 to 15 litres. Three or four need 30 to 50 litres, or a 15 to 25 gallon gas tank. Five or more need 25 to 35 gallons.
3. Count the bathrooms used together. If two showers run at the same time in the morning, size up or fit a second geyser.
4. Look at your power. If you have solar, choose a solar-compatible electric model. If load-shedding is long, a hybrid can switch back to gas.
5. Check where it will go. A gas geyser needs open air or a proper flue. An electric geyser can go indoors, near the bathroom.
6. Compare price and warranty. Use the tables above, then check each model’s price history before you order.

Running costs: gas bills, electricity units and load-shedding

Gas is usually cheaper per litre of hot water where pressure is good. Electric is more dependable, but every hour of heating shows up on the bill. A 2,000 watt element uses about 2 units an hour, and a 50 litre tank takes roughly an hour to heat from cold.

A gas storage tank can also push a home out of the protected-consumer category on the gas bill, which is judged on your winter use. Above that limit the gas company bills at higher rates, so check the limit printed on your SNGPL or SSGC bill. The tank loses heat all night, so turning the burner down at night and reheating in the morning saves gas.

For an electric geyser, a timer is the best saving. Heat the tank an hour before the morning rush, then switch it off. On solar, heat it around midday and the insulated tank keeps the water warm for the evening.

Safety and installation

• Never fit a gas geyser inside a closed bathroom. Burning gas makes carbon monoxide, so it needs open air or a flue.
• Use a qualified installer for gas. Have the connection leak-tested, and check pipes before every winter.
• Earth every electric geyser. Put it on its own breaker, ideally with an ELCB, and never on an extension board.
• Keep the safety valve working. The pressure relief valve on a storage geyser must never be blocked.
• Look for flame-out protection on gas models. It cuts the gas if the flame goes out.

An electric bathroom geyser is safe indoors when it is earthed, mounted away from direct shower spray and fitted on a proper circuit.

Care tips that make a geyser last

• Set the thermostat to about 50 to 55°C. That is hot enough for baths and wudu, and the tank loses less heat.
• Check the anode rod every year or two, sooner in hard-water areas. It protects the tank from rust.
• Flush the tank before winter to clear the scale that hard water leaves behind.
• Service gas burners before the cold starts, so the flame lights cleanly on low pressure.
