An instant gas geyser costs Rs. 17,200 to Rs. 28,000 in Pakistan today. It lights the moment you open the hot tap and switches off when you close it, so you never pay to keep a tank of water hot all day.

A 6 litre instant gas geyser is enough for a kitchen or one shower in mild weather. For a hot shower in a Peshawar or Islamabad winter, when the tap water is very cold, choose 8 to 10 litres. Fit it outside the bathroom, or in a place with good ventilation, and have the gas line leak-tested.

LPG instant gas geyser price

An LPG instant gas geyser costs Rs. 20,900 to Rs. 28,000 today. Buy the LPG version only if you run the geyser from a cylinder. A natural gas model will not burn LPG properly, and the reverse is also true.

An instant electric geyser costs Rs. 18,500 to Rs. 28,000 in Pakistan today. Most models sold as instant electric are semi-instant: a small, well-insulated tank with a strong element that has hot water ready within minutes.

Choose one when your Sui gas pressure drops every winter, or when you live in a flat with no gas line. A 10 to 15 litre tank suits one person, while 40 to 60 litres serves a family in one bathroom. It needs its own breaker and proper earthing, not a socket on an extension board.

Instant gas geyser or instant electric geyser?

1. Check your winter gas. If the gas pressure in your street holds up in December and January, an instant gas geyser is the cheapest to run.
2. No gas, or weak gas? Choose a semi-instant electric geyser. It works on electricity alone and runs well on a solar system in the daytime.
3. Check your water pressure. Most instant gas geysers light only when water flows fast enough. With a low overhead tank, look for low-pressure start or add a small booster pump.
4. Size for winter. A shower and a basin tap at the same time need about 10 to 12 litres a minute, so size up if both run together.
5. Match the fuel. Order natural gas or LPG to match your supply, and check the wattage of an electric model against your wiring or UPS.

A semi-instant electric geyser draws a steady load while it heats. Ask an electrician to run copper wire of the right gauge to its own breaker, and to fit an earth connection. That protects the element and keeps the warranty valid.
