Floor Standing AC buying guide

Do you actually need a floor standing?

The honest answer for a lot of buyers is no. A cabinet does not cool more — it throws the same cooling further.

Your space Buy Why
A hall, shop, showroom or double-height room Floor standing The air has to travel. A wall head cannot reach the far corner
An open-plan ground floor Floor standing Same reason
You cannot run pipework to the right outdoor wall Floor standing A practical constraint, and a fair reason
A bedroom or a normal lounge A 2 ton split Cheaper, quieter indoors, cheaper to run, and the noisy part lives outside
Under 400 sq ft A 2 ton split Spend the difference on a T3 compressor instead

The mistake we see most is a cabinet bought for a bedroom because it looks more serious. It costs more, takes a square metre of floor, and puts the fan noise in the room with you.

The T3 problem at this size

Something counter-intuitive fell out of our own catalogue when we checked, and we would rather flag it than hide it.

Slice of our range T3 share Meaning
1 ton About two thirds The highest of any size
Whole AC range About 57% The baseline
Floor standing About one third The most expensive machines we sell are the least likely to be rated for the day you need them
3 and 4 ton Not one carries T3 in its name The largest kit, doing the hardest duty, with the least rated compressors
The T3 cabinets we do have Orient Vibe 24G, TCL TAC-24T3-Fh, Dawlance Glacier Pro All 2 ton. This is where we would start

It is the wrong way round. A cabinet usually cools a hall or shop full of people with a door that opens all day — the hardest duty in the category — so check the compressor on the specific model before you spend.

Floor Standing AC price in Pakistan

Floor Standing AC prices in Pakistan range from Rs. 242,500 to Rs. 588,000, with an average listed price of Rs. 307,500 across 20 in-stock models, updated daily in July 2026. You will hear these called a cabinet AC , a standing AC , a floor stand or a tower — they are all the same machine: a tall unit that sits on the floor and throws air much harder and much further than a wall-mounted head can. This is the biggest, most expensive equipment we sell in this category, and there is one specification problem running through it that nobody warns you about. It is two sections down. Nine brands in stock:

Do you actually need a floor standing?

Ask this first, because the honest answer for a lot of buyers is no. A floor standing does not cool more than a split of the same tonnage — a 2 ton is a 2 ton either way. What it does is throw the same cooling further . That is worth paying for when the air has to travel: a hall, a shop, a showroom, a double-height room, a wedding lawn marquee, or an open-plan ground floor where a wall head simply cannot reach the far corner. It is worth paying for when you cannot run pipework to an outdoor wall in the right place. It is not worth paying for in a bedroom or a normal lounge, and that is the mistake we see most: a cabinet bought because it looks more serious. In a normal room it costs more, takes a square metre of your floor, and puts the fan noise in the room with you instead of outside. If you are cooling one room under about 400 sq ft, buy a 2 ton split and spend the difference on a T3 compressor.

The T3 problem at this size — read this before you spend Rs 500,000

Floor standing T3 models start from Rs. 260,000 and go up to Rs. 588,000, averaging Rs. 316,000 across 8 in-stock models. Here is something genuinely counter-intuitive that fell out of our own catalogue when we checked. Floor standing units are the least likely part of the range to carry a T3 compressor. Across our whole AC range about 57% is T3. At 1 ton it is 64% . On floor standing it drops to roughly a third — the most expensive machines we sell are the least likely to be rated for the day you need them. And it gets worse as they get bigger: not one 3 ton or 4 ton unit we stock carries T3 in its name . Why that matters more here than anywhere: T1 is rated to about 43°C ambient, T3 to about 52°C — and a floor standing is usually cooling a hall or a shop, full of people, with a door that opens all day. It runs at full load for hours with almost no idle time to recover in. That is the hardest duty in this entire category, being asked of the compressors least rated for it. So check the compressor on the specific model before you commit , and know that if you want T3 at this size the choice is genuinely narrow: Orient ’s Vibe 24G, TCL ’s TAC-24T3-Fh and Dawlance ’s Glacier Pro are the T3 cabinets we carry, and all three are 2 ton.

2, 3 or 4 ton?

2 ton floor standing ACs start from Rs. 242,500 and go up to Rs. 384,000, averaging Rs. 285,000 across 17 in-stock models. 4 ton floor standing ACs start from Rs. 496,000, across 2 in stock right now. 3 ton floor standing ACs start from Rs. 432,000, across 1 in stock right now. 2 ton is where the shelf actually lives — most of what we stock, all nine brands, and the right size for a shop or a large open lounge up to about 400 sq ft. 4 ton is for a hall, a showroom or a marquee, and only three brands have one in stock: Gree ’s GF-48TFIH T-Fresh, Orient ’s Premier 48G and Midea ’s MFM-48HRDN1. 3 ton barely exists — Gree’s GF-36TFIH is the only one we carry, which tells you the market treats it as an awkward in-between. Before you buy a 4 ton, price the alternative nobody prices: two 2 ton splits in opposite corners will usually cool a large space more evenly and more cheaply than one 4 ton cabinet , and if one fails in August you still have the other. The 4 ton earns it when you cannot run two sets of pipes, or the ceiling is high enough that only a cabinet will throw air to the far end.

Which brand should you buy?

Cheapest way in: EcoStar holds the lowest floor standing price we have, and both its cabinets are in stock. The T3 picks: Orient ’s Vibe 24G — T3, and the only solar compatible cabinet we carry — plus TCL ’s TAC-24T3-Fh and Dawlance ’s Glacier Pro. Given the section above, these are where we would start. Longest cover: Dawlance , with 12 years on the compressor against everyone else’s 10 — and this is where the Dawlance range stops. Biggest: Gree reaches 3 and 4 ton, Midea and Orient reach 4. Premium: Kenwood, General and Haier sit above — Haier makes a strong cabinet but our stock is thin.

Installing a floor standing AC

Three things worth knowing before delivery day, none of them on the box. Floor space: a cabinet needs roughly a square metre of clear floor and air space in front of it — push it into a corner behind furniture and you have bought a very expensive fan heater. Power: at 2 ton and above these draw serious current; a 4 ton wants its own circuit, and “it tripped the breaker” is not a fault, it is a wiring decision made years ago. Pipework: the condenser still lives outside, so you still need a route to an outdoor wall — people assume a floor standing is self-contained and it is not. Installation support is available on selected products only, so check the product page rather than assume, and insist on a proper vacuum and pressure test before gas charging. Free delivery applies in Peshawar; we ship across Pakistan with complete transit insurance on every order, which on a cabinet this size is the cover that actually matters.

What is the T3 floor standing AC price in Pakistan?+

Floor standing T3 models start from Rs. 260,000 and go up to Rs. 588,000, averaging Rs. 316,000 across 8 in-stock models. T3 is rated to about 52°C where T1 stops at roughly 43°C. Only about a third of floor standing units are T3 — the lowest share anywhere in our range — and no 3 or 4 ton model we stock has it. The T3 cabinets are Orient’s Vibe 24G, TCL’s TAC-24T3-Fh and Dawlance’s Glacier Pro, all 2 ton.

What is the 2 ton floor standing (cabinet) AC price in Pakistan?+

2 ton floor standing ACs start from Rs. 242,500 and go up to Rs. 384,000, averaging Rs. 285,000 across 17 in-stock models. 2 ton is where this shelf lives — most of what we stock, all nine brands, and the right size for a shop or large open lounge up to about 400 sq ft.

What is the 4 ton AC price in Pakistan?+

4 ton floor standing ACs start from Rs. 496,000, across 2 in stock right now. 4 ton exists only as floor standing, and only three brands have one in stock: Gree’s GF-48TFIH T-Fresh, Orient’s Premier 48G and Midea’s MFM-48HRDN1. For a hall, showroom or marquee.

What is the 3 ton AC price in Pakistan?+

3 ton floor standing ACs start from Rs. 432,000, across 1 in stock right now. 3 ton barely exists — Gree’s GF-36TFIH is the only one we carry, which tells you the market treats it as an awkward in-between size. Most people go 2 ton or 4 ton.

Choosing a floor standing AC

What is a cabinet AC?+

The same thing as a floor standing AC — the words are used interchangeably here, along with "standing AC", "floor stand" and "tower". It is a tall unit that sits on the floor rather than hanging on the wall, and it throws air much harder and further than a wall head can. Worth being clear on what it does not do: a cabinet does not cool more than a split of the same tonnage. A 2 ton is a 2 ton either way. It throws the same cooling further, which is worth money in a hall and worth nothing in a bedroom.

Is a floor standing AC better than a split?+

Not better — different. A floor standing does not cool more than a split of the same tonnage; it throws the same cooling further . Buy it when the air has to travel: a hall, shop, showroom, double-height room or open-plan ground floor where a wall head cannot reach the far corner, or when you cannot run pipework to the right outdoor wall. Do not buy it for a bedroom or a normal lounge — it costs more, takes a square metre of floor, and puts the fan noise in the room with you. Under about 400 sq ft, buy a 2 ton split and spend the difference on a T3 compressor.

Why are floor standing ACs less likely to be T3?+

We do not have a good answer for it, and we think it is worth flagging rather than hiding. The numbers from our own catalogue: about 57% of our whole AC range is T3, 64% at 1 ton — but only about a third of floor standing units, and no 3 or 4 ton model we stock has T3 in its name . It is the wrong way round: a cabinet is usually cooling a hall or shop full of people with a door that opens all day, so it runs at full load for hours with almost no idle time. That is the hardest duty in the category, being asked of the compressors least rated for it. Check the specific model before you commit.

Should I buy one 4 ton cabinet or two 2 ton splits?+

Price both before you decide, because most people never do. Two 2 ton splits in opposite corners will usually cool a large space more evenly and more cheaply than one 4 ton cabinet — and if one fails in August, you still have the other. The 4 ton earns its money when you cannot run two sets of pipework, or the ceiling is high enough that only a cabinet will throw air to the far end, or the space is a single tall volume like a showroom. For a wide, low, open-plan floor, two splits is usually the better engineering.

Which brand is best for a floor standing AC?+

EcoStar holds the lowest price and both its cabinets are in stock. The T3 picks — and given how rare T3 is at this size, this is where we would start — are Orient ’s Vibe 24G (also the only solar compatible cabinet we carry), TCL ’s TAC-24T3-Fh and Dawlance ’s Glacier Pro. Dawlance also gives 12 years on the compressor against everyone else’s 10. For size, Gree reaches 3 and 4 ton, with Midea and Orient at 4.

Buying from AYS Online

Can I buy a floor standing AC on installments?+

Yes. AYS Online offers zero down payment EMI through Bank Alfalah, JS Bank and MCB Bank credit and debit cards, with a fully automated installment checkout — no paperwork trips. Bank markup applies as per your bank’s schedule. Cash on Delivery and secure online payment are also available.

What warranty comes with an air conditioner?+

Typically 1 year general warranty, 10 years on the compressor and 4 years on the PCB kit — some models carry 12 years on the compressor. The exact terms are on each product page and they are worth reading, because the compressor is the expensive part and the PCB is the part that actually fails. All units are 100% original with the official manufacturer warranty valid across Pakistan, and every order ships with complete transit insurance.

Installation & running your AC

What do I need to check before installing a floor standing AC?+

Three things. Floor space — about a square metre clear, and air space in front of it; pushed into a corner behind furniture it cannot do its job. Power — at 2 ton and above these draw serious current and a 4 ton wants its own circuit; "it tripped the breaker" is a wiring decision, not a fault. Pipework — the condenser still lives outside, so you still need a route to an outdoor wall. People assume a floor standing is self-contained and it is not.
