EcoStar air conditioners, such as the popular Duke and Prince series, come with feature-rich remotes. However, symbols like “Health,” “Fungusproof,” or “iClean” can be confusing. To get the best cooling and energy efficiency, you need to know exactly what each button does.
This guide explains the functions and hidden features of your EcoStar AC remote.
Basic Functions & Symbols #
| Button / Symbol | Function |
|---|---|
| MODE | Switches operation between: Auto, Cool, Dry (Dehumidify), Heat, and Fan. |
| TURBO | Maximizes fan speed and compressor output to cool (or heat) the room in the shortest time possible. |
| ECO / SLEEP | Increases temperature by 1°C per hour during the night to save energy and prevent freezing. |
| DISPLAY | Turns the LED temperature light on the indoor unit ON or OFF (useful for sleeping in the dark). |
| i-CLEAN | Activates the self-cleaning cycle. The unit cleans dust from the evaporator coil to prevent bad smells. |
| ANTI-FUNGAL | Runs the fan for a few minutes after you turn the AC off to dry the coil, preventing mold growth. |
How to Unlock EcoStar AC Remote #
If you see a Lock Icon on your remote screen and the buttons aren’t working, you have accidentally activated the Child Lock.
- To Unlock/Lock: Press the (+) and (-) temperature buttons (or sometimes “Mode” and “Heat”) simultaneously for 3-5 seconds. The lock icon will disappear.
- Change Units: To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press the Mode and (-) buttons together while the remote is off.
