How to Use Midea AC Remote: Buttons and Symbols Guide

Your Midea Air Conditioner comes with smart features designed to save electricity and improve comfort, but they are often hidden behind confusing symbols on the remote. Features like “Gear Change,” “Follow Me,” and “Super” can significantly change how your AC performs.
This guide decodes every button on your Midea AC remote (applicable to Midea Xtreme, Prime, and most Inverter models).
Midea Remote Buttons Explained #

| GEAR | Midea’s unique feature. Press to limit the AC’s power consumption to 50%, 75%, or 100%. Ideal for running on generators or UPS. |
| FOLLOW ME | The AC uses the temperature sensor inside the remote (instead of the indoor unit) to decide when to stop cooling. Keep the remote near you for precise comfort. |
| CLEAN / SELF CLEAN | Starts a cleaning cycle to dry the evaporator coil and remove dust. |
Hidden Features #
- Silence Mode: Press the Fan button for 2 seconds to activate Silence mode. This lowers the fan speed to minimum for quiet operation.
- Lock/Unlock: Press the Clean and Turbo buttons together for 5 seconds to lock the keyboard. Repeat to unlock.
- LED Display: Press the LED button to turn off the light on the indoor unit if it disturbs your sleep.
