The Kenwood DIM-40 in off white is a 1200W heavy dry iron with a ceramic soleplate. The Kenwood DIM-40 price in Pakistan at AYS Online is Rs. 12,000, with a 1-year official brand warranty, for homes that prefer the firm press of a heavy iron on cotton, lawn, khaddar and bedsheets without a water tank to fill.
Why a heavy dry iron still makes sense
A heavy iron uses its own weight together with heat to flatten creases, so thick cotton and khaddar need less pressure from your hand. With no steam system there is no tank to fill and no scale to clean. For stubborn creases, mist the fabric lightly with a spray bottle before pressing. The ceramic soleplate glides smoothly over fabric and wipes clean easily once cold.
An iron or steamer is one of the heaviest electrical loads in a home. Most household UPS units are not built for a load like this, so plan ironing for when mains power is on rather than during load-shedding.
Caring for a ceramic soleplate
Clean the soleplate only when the iron is cold, using a soft damp cloth. Avoid metal scrapers and abrasive pads. Stand the iron on its heel between garments and unplug it when you finish.
