Kenwood STP 01 Steam Iron, 1100W, Non-Stick Soleplate, 130 ml Tank, Blue

The Kenwood STP 01 is a compact 1100W steam iron in blue with a non-stick soleplate, a 130 ml water tank and vertical steam rated at 15 g/min. The price at AYS Online is Rs. 10,000, with a 1-year official brand warranty, for students, small families and anyone ironing a few outfits at a time.

Light steam ironing with vertical steam

At 1100W with a 130 ml tank, this is a light everyday steam iron for a few outfits at a time. Retailer listings give the vertical steam at 15 g/min, so you can hold the iron upright to freshen a hanging kameez or jacket, and describe automatic temperature regulation. The non-stick soleplate glides over fabric and wipes clean once the iron has cooled.

Irons are among the highest-wattage appliances in a home. Most household UPS units are not designed for a load like this, so plan your ironing for when mains power is on rather than during load-shedding.

Everyday care

Empty the tank after use and store the iron upright on its heel. Clean the soleplate with a soft damp cloth when cold, and avoid metal scrapers or abrasive pads on the coating.
