The National Distributor IC-1055 is a single-burner infrared hot plate rated at 2200W, with digital control, offered in black, orange and red. The National Distributor IC-1055 price in Pakistan is Rs. 10,900 at AYS Online, with a 1-year official brand warranty, for families who want a strong electric plate when gas pressure drops on winter mornings.
2200W with digital control
A 2200W rating is on the higher side for a single-burner hot plate, which helps bring water for chai or a pot of daal up to temperature faster. Settings are made through digital control rather than a simple dial. Pick black for a plain look, or orange or red to brighten the kitchen counter.
Infrared heating and your cookware
Ceramic, infrared and coil hot plates heat the pot by contact and radiated heat, so they do not need magnetic induction cookware. A flat, dry base sits best and heats most evenly. The surface stays hot for a while after switching off, so let it cool before wiping it down or putting it away.
Running 2200W on UPS or solar
An electric hot plate draws close to its full rated power while it heats, and this one is rated at 2200W. During load-shedding, check that your UPS or solar inverter can supply that load on top of fans and lights before you start cooking. Plug it straight into a properly earthed wall socket rather than a thin extension lead.

Infrared hot plates work by emitting radiant heat rays, but they do still use an internal electrical heating element (usually halogen or advanced resistance coils) to generate those rays.
Here is exactly how the technology works:
Heat Generation: Electricity passes through the internal heating element, causing it to glow red and emit infrared radiation (heat rays).
Direct Transfer: These rays pass right through the smooth ceramic-glass surface, transferring heat directly into the bottom of your cookware instantly without losing heat to the surrounding air.
Universal Cookware: Because it uses direct infrared heat rather than electromagnetism (induction), you can use any type of flat-bottomed pot or pan, including steel, aluminum, ceramic, clay, and glass.
