Geyser prices in Pakistan at a glance

The price of a geyser depends first on its type and then on its size. Instant gas geysers and small electric models are the most affordable, electric storage geysers sit in the middle, and large gas or electric-and-gas storage geysers of 35 to 55 gallons cost the most. The right choice depends on your gas supply, your family size and how many bathrooms need hot water at the same time.

Gas, electric, instant or hybrid: which geyser should you buy?

Instant gas

Heats water only as it flows, so there is no tank and no waiting. The litre figure is how many litres of hot water it gives per minute. Ideal for a kitchen or one shower, but it needs steady gas pressure.

Best for: a kitchen or a single bathroom.

Semi-instant electric

A small insulated tank with a fast heating element, ready within minutes. It needs no gas at all and suits one bathroom or a small family.

Best for: flats and homes without gas.

Electric storage

Heats and stores 30 to 100 litres in an insulated tank. It works whatever the gas pressure is doing, but reheating takes time and it runs on electricity.

Best for: families with weak winter gas.

Gas storage

A large tank of 15 to 55 gallons heated by a gas burner. It is the cheapest to run where gas pressure is good, and supplies several bathrooms at once.

Best for: larger families with steady gas.

Electric and gas (hybrid)

A storage geyser with both a gas burner and an electric element, so you can switch to electric when winter gas pressure drops and to gas during load-shedding.

Best for: most Pakistani homes in winter.

Solar-compatible

Electric and hybrid geysers designed to work with a home solar system, so much of the heating can run on daytime solar power. Check the product page for the power it needs.

Best for: homes with solar panels.

Which geyser suits your gas and electricity supply?

In winter, the right geyser depends less on the brand than on what your area actually gets. Find the line closest to your home.

Live Geyser prices in Pakistan by Your supply
Your supply What to choose Why
Good gas pressure most of the day Gas storage geyser, 25 to 55 gallons The cheapest heat per litre, and enough for several bathrooms
Gas only a few hours a day Electric-and-gas hybrid, or electric storage on a timer Heat on gas while it is there; switch on the element for the evening
Weak gas, reliable electricity Semi-instant or electric storage geyser Works whatever the gas pressure; a timer keeps the bill down
Both unreliable Electric-and-gas hybrid storage geyser Two ways to heat the same tank of water
Home solar system Solar-compatible electric geyser, heated around midday Uses daytime solar power; the tank keeps it warm for the evening
LPG cylinder, no Sui gas Instant gas geyser in its LPG version Burns gas only while the tap is open, so a cylinder lasts longer
Flat or apartment bathroom Electric storage or semi-instant geyser No flue or open-air space needed, unlike any gas geyser

What size geyser do you need?

Size depends on how many people use hot water and how many bathrooms are used at the same time in the morning. Electric geysers are sold in litres, while gas and hybrid storage geysers are usually sold in gallons.

1 to 2 people 10–15 L

Electric, or a 6 litre instant gas geyser for one tap.

3 to 4 people 30–50 L

Electric storage, or a 15 to 25 gallon gas or hybrid tank.

5 to 6 people 25–35 gal

Gas or hybrid storage for two bathrooms.

Large family 55 gal

Several bathrooms used in the morning rush.

Kitchen only Instant

A 6 to 8 litre instant gas or small semi-instant.

Our tip: if two bathrooms are used at the same time, size up. Running out of hot water halfway through a winter shower is the most common geyser regret.

Winter gas, load-shedding and running costs

In many Pakistani cities, gas pressure drops sharply in winter, just when you need hot water most. A gas-only geyser can then struggle to heat the tank, which is why electric-and-gas hybrid geysers are so popular: you can switch to the electric element when gas is weak, and back to gas during load-shedding.

An electric geyser uses its full wattage while heating, typically 1500 to 2000 watts, then switches off when the thermostat is satisfied. Heating 50 litres of water takes roughly an hour on a 2000 watt element. Gas is usually cheaper to run where pressure is good, and a solar-compatible model can cut daytime electricity costs if you have panels.

Gas geysers and the 0.9 hm³ protected limit

A household keeps its protected gas status while its use averages 0.9 hm³ or less a month from November to February . Above that, it is billed as non-protected, with higher rates on every slab and a fixed monthly charge several times the protected one, on the current domestic tariff. A storage geyser is often the biggest gas user in the house, because its tank keeps losing heat even when nobody is using hot water.

Switch the burner off at night

A tank that sits hot all night keeps losing heat. Turning the main burner down or off overnight and reheating in the morning uses less gas than keeping it hot, because a cooler tank loses heat more slowly.

Turn the thermostat down

Around 50 to 55 °C is hot enough for baths and wudu. Every step higher raises the heat the tank loses while standing.

Use instant gas where you can

An instant geyser burns gas only while the tap is open, so it does not lose heat standing. For a kitchen or one bathroom it uses far less gas than a big tank.

Check the numbers first

The running cost calculator on this page adds a geyser to your other gas use and shows whether your total passes the limit.

Gas tariffs are set by OGRA and change from time to time; your bill shows your status, your slab and the heat value used to convert hm³ into MMBTU.

Geyser running cost calculator

Enter your household and this month’s bills. The calculator estimates what each type of geyser adds to your gas or electricity bill, and whether a gas storage geyser pushes your gas use past the 0.9 hm³ protected limit.

Tell us how many people use hot water and which month it is. The calculator estimates how much each type of geyser adds to your gas or electricity bill, and whether a gas geyser takes you past the protected limit.

Your household

Your bills

For 5 people in Oct or Mar, about 225 litres of hot water a day take about 5.2 units of heat. A gas storage geyser adds about 0.41 hm³ a month, taking your gas to 0.81 hm³.

You need225 litreshot water a day, 5.2 units of heat
Cheapest to runInstant gas geyserabout Rs. 670 a month
Gas with a storage geyser0.81 hm³a month in all, within the 0.9 hm³ protected limit
Electric geyser171 unitsa month, semi-instant electric

Estimates. Hot water is counted at 40 °C for baths, showers, wudu and washing. Gas is billed on the domestic slabs with the previous-slab benefit, plus the fixed charge and sales tax; your bill also depends on the gas heat value (GCV), meter rent and any arrears. Storage geysers also lose heat while standing, which is why they cost more than instant ones for the same hot water.

Electric geysers: wiring, power and solar inverters

An electric geyser draws its full rated power while heating: about 7 amps for a 1,500 watt element, 9 amps for 2,000 watts and 14 amps for 3,000 watts on a 220 volt supply. That is more than a normal socket and a thin extension lead are made for.

Its own circuit

Run the geyser from its own breaker on copper wire sized by your electrician, typically 7/.029 or heavier for a 2,000 to 3,000 watt element. Never use an extension board.

Earthing and ELCB

The body must be earthed, and an ELCB or RCD on the circuit cuts power if current leaks to water or metal. Some geysers include one; otherwise ask your electrician to fit it.

On a solar inverter

A 2,000 watt element runs on a 5 kW hybrid inverter in good sun if little else is running at the same time. A 1,500 watt model, or one listing 1,500 to 2,000 watts, is easier on a smaller system. Check the watts on the product page.

On a UPS

A home UPS of 1 to 1.5 kVA cannot run a geyser element; it is sized for lights, fans and a TV.

Tank steel, insulation and the thermostat

Three parts decide how long a storage geyser lasts and how much it costs to run.

Steel thickness

Tank sheet is measured in gauge, and a lower number is thicker: 10 or 11 gauge is heavier than 12 or 14. Thicker steel resists corrosion from hard water for longer. Heavy-duty models list it, for example Ocean’s WGS-20G at 10 to 11 gauge.

Insulation

Foam insulation around the tank keeps water hot for hours after the burner or element stops, which cuts the heat lost while standing. On electric geysers it saves more electricity than any other feature.

Thermostat

A reliable thermostat shuts the main burner or element off once the water reaches the set temperature. If a geyser keeps heating past that, have the thermostat checked, because it wastes fuel and builds pressure.

Anode rod and safety valve

The magnesium anode protects the tank from rust and should be checked every year or two in hard-water areas. The pressure relief valve must never be blocked.

Geyser safety and installation

A geyser works with gas, electricity and hot water under pressure, so installation matters as much as the model you choose.

Ventilation for gas

Never fit a gas geyser inside a closed bathroom. It needs fresh air and a flue or open space, because burning gas produces carbon monoxide.

Professional installation

Have gas connections fitted and leak-tested by a qualified installer, and check pipes and fittings before every winter.

Safety valve

Storage geysers need a working pressure and temperature relief valve. Do not block or remove it.

Earthing for electric

Electric geysers must be properly earthed, ideally on a circuit with an ELCB or breaker, which some models include.

Flame-out protection

On gas models, look for auto ignition and flame-out protection, which cuts the gas if the flame goes out.

Tank care

A magnesium anode rod protects the tank from corrosion. Flushing the tank and checking the rod every year or two helps it last longer.

Geyser FAQs

Prices

What is the geyser price in Pakistan?

Geyser prices in Pakistan start from Rs. 17,200 for the cheapest 6 litre model and go up to Rs. 85,000 for the top 100 litre electric model, across 82 models, updated daily in October 2026. Half of all models cost between Rs. 24,925 and Rs. 47,875, which is where most electric storage and semi-instant geysers sit.

What is the gas geyser price in Pakistan?

Gas geyser prices in Pakistan start from Rs. 17,200 for the cheapest 6 litre model and go up to Rs. 66,825 for the top 35 gallon model, across 29 models, updated daily in October 2026.

Choosing a geyser

Which is better, a gas geyser or an electric geyser?

A gas geyser is cheaper to run where gas pressure is steady and heats large tanks quickly. An electric geyser works whatever the gas supply and is safer to place indoors, but costs more to run. If your winter gas is unreliable, an electric-and-gas hybrid gives you both.

Is an electric and gas hybrid geyser worth it?

For most Pakistani homes, yes. When winter gas pressure drops you can heat with electricity, and during load-shedding you can switch back to gas, so you are rarely without hot water.

What is the difference between an instant and a storage geyser?

An instant geyser heats water as it flows, with no tank, and suits a kitchen or one shower. A storage geyser heats and keeps a tank of hot water ready, which suits families and several bathrooms.

What size geyser do I need?

For one or two people, a 10 to 15 litre electric or a 6 litre instant gas geyser is enough. For three or four, choose 30 to 50 litres electric or a 15 to 25 gallon gas or hybrid tank. For five or more people or two bathrooms, choose 25 to 35 gallons, and 55 gallons for large families.

Using a geyser

How long does a geyser take to heat water?

A small 10 to 15 litre electric geyser heats in about 15 to 25 minutes, and a 50 litre model on a 2000 watt element takes roughly an hour. Instant gas geysers heat water immediately as it flows.

How much electricity does an electric geyser use?

An electric geyser draws its rated power, usually 1500 to 2000 watts, only while heating. A 2000 watt geyser running for one hour uses about 2 units of electricity, and the thermostat switches it off once the water is hot.

Is it safe to install a gas geyser in the bathroom?

No. A gas geyser should be installed outside the bathroom or in a well-ventilated space with a proper flue, because burning gas produces carbon monoxide. Always use a qualified installer.

Choosing a geyser

Which geyser brand is best in Pakistan?

NasGas and Super Asia offer the widest choice across every type, Welcome and Ocean are strong in gas and hybrid storage geysers, Metro and Cherry focus on solar-compatible models, and Signature and Midea offer premium electric geysers.

Will a gas geyser take me past the 0.9 hm³ protected limit?

It can. For a family of five in December, a gas storage geyser can use roughly 0.4 to 0.6 hm³ a month on its own, so with cooking the total often passes 0.9 hm³. Protected status depends on your average from November to February. An instant gas geyser, or switching the storage burner off at night, cuts gas use sharply; the calculator on this page estimates it for your household.

Is it cheaper to run an electric geyser or a gas geyser?

Gas is usually much cheaper for the same hot water. Even at non-protected rates, a unit of heat from gas costs several times less than a unit of electricity at around Rs. 60. Electric makes sense where gas is weak or missing, and costs least on home solar or on a timer.

Does turning a gas geyser off at night save gas?

Yes. A hot tank loses heat all night whether or not anyone uses the water. Turning the main burner off or down at night and reheating in the morning uses less gas than keeping the tank hot, because a cooler tank loses heat more slowly.

Does a hybrid geyser switch to electric automatically when the gas drops?

Most electric-and-gas geysers let you run the burner and the element separately, so you switch the element on when gas is weak. Some models can run both together. Check the product page for how the controls work on the model you choose.

Can I run an electric geyser on a 5 kW solar inverter?

Yes, in good sun, if not much else is running at the same time: a 2,000 watt element uses less than half of a 5 kW inverter. Heat the water around midday and the insulated tank keeps it warm for the evening. A 1,500 watt model is easier on smaller systems or batteries.

What size wire does an electric geyser need?

A 2,000 to 3,000 watt geyser draws 9 to 14 amps, so it should be on its own breaker with copper wire sized by your electrician, typically 7/.029 or heavier, and properly earthed. Do not run it from an extension board.

Can one instant gas geyser run two showers at the same time?

Usually not in winter. A winter shower uses about 6 to 8 litres of hot water a minute, so two showers need 12 to 16 litres a minute, more than a 6 to 10 litre instant geyser gives. For two bathrooms at once, choose a storage geyser or one instant geyser per bathroom.

Buying from AYS

What warranty comes with a geyser?

Most geysers carry a 1 year official warranty, and a few models list a longer warranty. The exact term is on each product page, and every geyser is 100% original.

Is delivery free, and are there charges on Cash on Delivery?

Delivery is free anywhere in Pakistan on advance payment, even a partial one, and free inside Peshawar on every payment method. Cash on Delivery orders outside Peshawar carry a delivery charge plus government taxes (2% sales tax and 2% income tax), which we confirm by phone before dispatch. Paying any advance removes both.

Can I buy a geyser on installments?

Yes. You can pay in installments with zero down payment using a Bank Alfalah, JS Bank or MCB credit or debit card, and the whole process happens online. Your bank’s markup applies, and Bank Alfalah plans also carry a processing fee.

Do you install the geyser?

Installation support is available on selected products. Ask our sales team on 0333-5652643 whether it is available for your model and city. Gas geysers should always be fitted by a qualified installer.
