The Gree GR-D6520G-CB2 is the black glass door version of Gree’s 9 cubic feet Denali fridge: 255 litres net, a 175 litre fridge, an 80 litre freezer, a bigger condenser and thicker insulation for deep cooling. What deep cooling means on the GR-D6520G-CB2
Gree builds the CB2 with a bigger condenser, the coil that throws heat out of the cabinet. A larger condenser gets rid of heat faster, which matters in a hot kitchen where the air around the fridge is already warm. Thicker insulation works from the other side and keeps the cold in once it is made.
Together they help during load-shedding. If you keep the doors closed during a two-hour cut, milk, dahi and cooked food stay cold for longer than they would in a thin-walled cabinet. The compressor is listed as T1, the temperate class, so ventilation still counts: leave a few inches of air behind and beside the unit.

At about 161 cm tall and 65 cm wide it fits most flat kitchens and the corner of a lounge. Inside you get an LED light, adjustable shelves, an egg tray, a crisper box and an ice scratcher for defrosting the freezer.
Voltage, gas and upkeep
This model is not sold as a low-voltage fridge. If your area sees weak voltage in the evenings, pair it with a stabiliser that has a time delay, so the compressor does not restart the moment power returns after a cut. It runs on R600a refrigerant and carries a 4 star, class A energy rating.
The black glass wipes clean with a damp cloth, and the anti-bacterial gasket detaches so you can wash the door seal properly. Being direct cool, the freezer needs a manual defrost when the ice layer builds up.
