The Dawlance DWDI-1020 in black is a 1000W heavy dry iron with a Teflon coated soleplate. Dawlance DWDI-1020 price in Pakistan at AYS Online is Rs. 10,300, with a 1-year official brand warranty, for homes that want a simple dry iron for daily cotton, lawn and khaddar clothes without filling a water tank.
A dry iron for everyday pressing
A dry iron has no steam system, so there is no water tank to fill, no scale build-up and nothing to drip on the ironing board. Many Pakistani households still prefer one for daily shalwar kameez and school uniforms. For stubborn creases on cotton, a light mist of water from a spray bottle before pressing does the job. The Teflon coated soleplate helps the iron glide over fabric and wipes clean easily once it has cooled.
Irons are among the highest-wattage appliances in a home. Most household UPS units are not designed for a load like this, so plan your ironing for when mains power is on rather than during load-shedding.
Caring for a coated soleplate
Clean the soleplate only when the iron is cold, using a soft damp cloth. Avoid metal scrapers and abrasive pads, which can damage the coating. Start with lower-heat fabrics and move to cotton and linen last.
