A 500mm fan for a bigger room
The 500mm fan is driven by a 260W main motor turning at 1325 RPM, and retailers list the air delivery at 265 m³/min, which is what gives this cooler its strong air throw. The 80 litre tank keeps it running through long afternoons and nights with fewer refills.
Power use and backup
The main motor is rated at 260W and the water pump at 25W. If you plan to run it on a UPS during load-shedding, check that your inverter and batteries can carry that load for the hours you need.
Getting real cooling from a room cooler
- Dry heat works best: an evaporative cooler cools by passing hot air over wet pads, so it performs best in dry summer heat and feels weaker in humid monsoon weather.
- Let air escape: keep a window or door slightly open so moist air can leave the room.
- Keep water topped up: refill clean water before the tank runs low, and drain and clean it regularly.
