The National Distributor KT-218 is a black 1.7 litre electric kettle with a 1500W element, electric shock-proof construction and a clear water level gauge. A wide opening makes filling and cleaning easy. It is a sensible everyday kettle for families, offices and hostel rooms that boil water for tea, coffee, noodles and oats. The KT-218 costs Rs. 7,600 at AYS Online today.
1500W on the KT-218: what to expect
At 1500W the KT-218 draws less power than higher-wattage kettles, which is a lighter load on a shared kitchen socket board, while still heating its full 1.7 litres for several cups in one go. If you only need two cups, fill to that level on the gauge and it will be ready sooner.
Safety on the KT-218
The kettle is built to be electric shock-proof, with insulation between the electrical parts and the outer body. In a busy home with children around, that is the feature to look for. The water level gauge also helps: you can check there is enough water before switching on, rather than running it near empty.
Who the KT-218 suits
- Families: 1.7 litres covers several cups of tea in one boil.
- Offices: a simple, dependable kettle for the pantry.
- Students: quick hot water for noodles, oats and coffee.
Cleaning the KT-218
The wide opening and smooth interior make hand-cleaning easy. In hard-water areas, descale every few weeks: boil water with a little lemon juice or white vinegar, let it sit, discard, then rinse several times with clean water. Keep the base dry and never immerse the kettle. The black finish hides everyday marks on a busy counter.
Empty the kettle after each use rather than leaving water standing overnight, and wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth.
Getting the most from the KT-218 each morning
Fill it to the level you need using the gauge, switch it on while you set out cups and tea leaves, and the water is ready by the time the doodh is warm. Avoid boiling the same water again and again; fresh water makes better chai.
