NasGas NEG-303 Plus Electric Geyser, 30 Litre, Solar Compatible, 2000W

The NasGas NEG-303 Plus is a 30-litre electric geyser with a triple watt selector (800W, 1200W or 2000W), a solar-friendly design and ELCB shock protection. It has an imported stainless steel element, a galvanized tank with an anti-scaling anode rod and a digital display. It suits singles, couples or one washroom or kitchen, and costs Rs. 22,600 at AYS Online today.

Choosing 800W, 1200W or 2000W on the NEG-303 Plus

The energy selector is what makes this geyser different from a fixed-power heater. A heater uses roughly one unit of electricity for every 1000W per hour of heating, so the three settings let you match power to your supply:

• 800W: slower heating, gentle on a small solar inverter or a light connection.
• 1200W: a middle setting for daily use.
• 2000W: fastest heating when you need hot water soon.

On a solar home, the low setting can make the difference between a geyser your inverter can carry and one it cannot.

Using the NEG-303 Plus with solar water heating

The NEG-303 Plus is designed to work alongside a solar water heating system as a backup or booster. Solar-warmed water feeds into it, and the element only needs to top up the temperature on cloudy days or in heavy demand. A technician familiar with solar plumbing should do the connection.

Safety and build of a compact 30-litre tank

ELCB wiring detects current leaking to earth and cuts the supply, an important layer of protection on a water heater in a wet room. A safety pressure relief valve, a rotary thermostat and the digital display meter complete the controls. Inside, the heavy gauge galvanized tank has an anti-scaling anode rod against hard water, X-ray welding, IIL transmission pipes and special glass wool insulation to slow heat loss.

Thirty litres covers one comfortable shower or a kitchen sink. A family showering back to back will want a larger tank.
