The Cherry CEH-50T is a 50 litre electric geyser from Cherry’s ECO Series. It combines a digital touch display, digital temperature control and 3-step wattage control (800W, 1200W and 2000W), and Cherry rates it as inverter, UPS and solar compatible.
Energy saving wattage control
Run it at 2000W for the fastest heat-up, 1200W for daily use, or 800W to cut electricity use and the load on an inverter or UPS. The digital touch display lets you set the temperature you want.
Tank and build
The 50 litre tank is anti-bacterial enamel-coated and X-welded for strength, with an anode rod to resist corrosion. The heating element is imported Incoloy alloy, thick polyurethane foam insulation holds the heat, and the round body is powder-coated. It measures about 410 mm in diameter and 605 mm in height.
What “solar compatible” means
This is an electric geyser. “Solar compatible” means it can run on the AC output of a home solar inverter or UPS; it is not a solar water heater with panels on the roof. Choosing the lower 800W setting puts less load on a solar inverter or UPS, while 2000W heats the tank fastest when mains power is available.
Who should buy it
A 50 litre tank is a popular size for a family bathroom, giving enough hot water for several showers in a row.
