Measure how far your sofa sits from the screen, then divide that distance in inches by about 1.6 for a 4K TV. Sitting 8 feet away? That’s 96 inches, which points to a 55 to 60 inch screen — and 55 inch is the size most Pakistani lounges land on.
The most common mistake is buying too small. With 4K resolution you can sit much closer than older TVs allowed, so a screen that feels large in the showroom usually looks right at home. If you’re torn between two sizes, take the bigger one.
LED TV size guide: what size should you buy?
Match your seating distance to the screen size. Measure from where you actually sit to where the TV will hang:
| Viewing distance | Recommended size | Typical room | Browse |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 – 5.5 ft | 32 inch | Bedroom, kitchen, hostel room | 32 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 5 – 6.5 ft | 40 inch | Small bedroom or study | 40 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 6 – 7.5 ft | 43 inch | Master bedroom, small lounge | 43 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 7 – 8.5 ft | 50 inch | Average family lounge | 50 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 8 – 10 ft | 55 inch | Main lounge — the most popular size | 55 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 9 – 12 ft | 65 inch | Large lounge or drawing room | 65 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 11 – 14 ft | 75 inch | Big drawing room, open-plan space | 75 inch LED price in Pakistan |
| 13 ft and beyond | 85 inch and up | Halls, majlis, commercial spaces | 85 inch LED price in Pakistan |
The simple calculation
For a 4K TV — which is nearly everything worth buying now — divide your viewing distance in inches by 1.6. Sit 10 feet away? That’s 120 inches, divided by 1.6 gives 75 inches. So a 65 to 75 inch screen suits that room.
Why 4K changed the old advice. Older HD televisions had visible pixels, so you had to sit far enough back that you stopped noticing them. 4K packs four times the pixels into the same screen, so you can sit much closer without the picture breaking up — which means the same room now comfortably takes a considerably larger screen than it did a few years ago. Advice written for HD sets undersizes badly.
Also measure the wall, not just the distance. Screen sizes are diagonal measurements, so a 55 inch TV is roughly 48 inches wide. Check the space you’re mounting into, and if it’s going on a console, make sure the stand feet fit within the furniture width.
Sizing for Pakistani lounges
Our rooms tend to favour bigger screens than the chart suggests. Lounges here are often long and rectangular with seating pushed to the walls, so the real viewing distance is usually greater than people estimate — measure it rather than guessing. Family viewing also means several people watching at once from different angles and distances, and the person on the far seat sets the requirement, not the person nearest the screen. Rooms used for guests, or where cricket is watched in a crowd, justify going a size up. Practical checks before you buy: confirm the wall can take the mount, allow for the TV’s width plus a little clearance, and remember a larger screen with 4K will look better from your existing sofa than a smaller one — sitting closer is no longer a problem.

TV size guide: FAQs
What size TV is best for a normal lounge?
For most family lounges in Pakistan, 55 inch is the sweet spot — it suits a viewing distance of roughly 8 to 10 feet, which describes the majority of living rooms here. If your seating is closer, 50 or 43 inch fits better; if the room is large or seating is pushed back to the walls, step up to 65 inch.
How far should I sit from a 55 inch TV?
Around 7 to 10 feet is comfortable for a 55 inch 4K screen. Because 4K has four times the pixels of HD, you can sit closer than older guidance suggested without seeing pixel structure — so if your sofa is 8 feet away, a 55 inch is well matched rather than too large.
Is a 65 inch TV too big for a bedroom?
Usually yes, unless the room is unusually large. Bedrooms typically have a viewing distance of 6 to 8 feet, which suits 43 to 50 inch. A 65 inch at that distance fills too much of your field of view and forces you to move your eyes across the screen.
What size TV should I buy for a 12×15 room?
Work from seating distance rather than floor area. In a 12×15 foot room, seating is usually 9 to 11 feet from the screen, which points to a 65 inch — or 55 inch if the sofa sits closer. Measure from where you actually sit to the wall the TV will go on.
Should I buy the biggest TV I can afford?
Within reason, yes — most people regret buying too small far more often than too big. The limits are your wall space, the width of your TV console, and sitting so close that you can’t take in the whole screen comfortably. Between two sizes that both fit, take the larger.
Can I buy a TV on installments?
Yes. We offer zero down payment EMI through Bank Alfalah, JS Bank and MCB credit and debit cards, with a fully automated checkout — which is how many customers step up to a larger screen. A bank markup applies, so the total is a little above the cash price. Cash on Delivery is available too.
